Kimmeridgian Clay layers -  Jurassic Period c.152-157 million years old. A rare and complete Pliosaur Propodial bone (upper paddle bone) dredged up many years back near Portland Bill, Weymouth, Dorset and from a Hampshire Geologists collection. This heavy and impressive dinosaur bone hails from a Pliosaur, a shorter necked relative of the Plesiosaurs; A Pliosaurs was a huge swimming marine reptiles that grew between 5 and 15 metres in length and had large elongated heads containing many sharp conical teeth, a large bulbous body with thick stubby pointed tail and four large paddle like limbs for propelling itself at speed through the water to catch its prey. The propodial bone (humerous) is the upper arm bone in a paddle limb. In very good overall condition with sound surfaces and a good affordable example of its type, 210mm long x 115mm wide x 37mm thick
