c.10th/11th Century A.D. A good Late Anglo Saxon / Viking bronze Stirrup mount found in Norfolk and from a Norfolk collection. Of relatively plain, slightly trapezoid form, likely once silvered or gilded but now merely bronze. This mount would have secured the stirrup hoop to the leather down strap. Intact and in good overall condition, an affordable example of the type, 46mm long x 29mm wide
