c.8000 - 6000 B.C. A good and scarce Mesolithic Portland Chert flake arrowhead excavated close to the famous Culverwell habitation site, Portland Bill, Isle of Portland, Dorset and from a Hampshire Geologists collection but originally hailing from an older collection amassed in the 1970's. Clearly defined with some retouching to further enhance the blade edges, totally intact with a pleasant overall patination, a good example of the type from a famous Mesolithic site, 38mm long x 27mm wide x 5mm thick.
