c.3500-3000 B.C. A pair of finely worked, partial Neolithic / Pre-Dynastic Egyptian flint sickles / knives with denticulated blade edges, both collected many years ago and from an old Canadian private collection. Although partial sickles, both are excellent and finely worked pieces, one fashioned from a brown / beige flint or chert, the other in a pleasant buff / cream flint; both well defined examples, and expertly pressure flaked to form clearly denticulated blades for cutting through tough grasses and cereal crops. Both in excellent overall condition with good surface ageing and patination, a good and interesting pair Egyptian lithic tools, one 80mm long x 42mm wide x 10mm thick, the other 83mm long x 32mm wide x 10mm thick.
