SOLD

c.100,000 to 50,000 B.C. A good Paleolithic flint borer / awl tool found many years ago in Norfolk and from an old Norfolk collection. Nicely fashioned from a small pebble of attractive honey coloured flint and then well worked to define the functional boring point, cortex remaining on butt end to enhance grip. This tool would likely have been used for piercing holes in thick animal hides for binding together with sinew or cordage to make clothing or shelter, totally intact and in very good condition, a pleasant example of the type, 59mm long
