A good Lower Paleolithic flint core hand axe
found many years ago at Hellesdon, Nr. Norwich, Norfolk and from an old Norfolk collection. Clearly worked from a thick elongate flake of blue / grey flint with a well defined functional point pebble, cortex remaining on butt end to aide grip in use . Totally intact and in very good overall condition condition with good surface ageing and patination, a pleasant early East Anglian flint hand tool, approx. 120mm long x 55mm wide x 50mm thick
