c.3000 B.C. A good sized, well worked and attractive Neolithic flint knife / scraper tool found at Holbrook, Suffolk and from an old Suffolk collection. Nicely worked from a thick flake of dark grey / black flint, cortex remaining on right edge, deep percussion scar on top surface which fits the right hand thumb perfectly providing a good grip for use, well worked and still sharp blade on left edge, with additional finer retouching along its length to further enhance its cutting ability. Totally intact and in lovely condition with a most attractive shiny overall patina, a very nice example of its type, 66mm long x 43mm wide x 14mm thick
