c.1st / 2nd Century A.D. A huge and impressive Roman quad-sided Iron nail excavated many years ago in the famous Holy City of Jerusalem and more recently from an old Northern Irish collection. Totally intact, of sound metal with decent surfaces and overall in very good condition for ancient iron. Most likely originating from a huge wooden gate or door. An excellent example of the type and better than many offered for sale, 158mm long x 14mm at thickest, head diameter 37mm approximately.
