c.1900-1600 B.C. A huge and rare Early Bronze Age Cypriot "Eyelet type" Toggle cloak / dress pin. A most substantial bronze cloak pin with a large domed head and gently tapering plain shank with the characteristic diamond shaped punched hole (eyelet) mid-way down for attachment to a securing chain or cord. Very tip lost in antiquity otherwise intact and in good overall condition with a slightly roughish green overall patination. From a Scottish collection. A very early, rare and seldom offered type of cloak pin, 144mm long x 17mm diameter at head x 6mm at tip.
