c.90-70 million years B.C. A huge, heavy and impressive Upper Cretaceous period fossil Echinoid (Sea Urchin) sp. Sternotaxis Planis, found in the U.K. and from an old early 20th Century collection. A large example with the original shell now calcified and surrounding a chalk inner. Clear details remain of where the spines and tubercles once were and also the mouth and anus.
