SOLD
c.15th Century A.D. A huge Late Medieval bronze strap end with remnant of leather strap still attached. Found many yeas back in North Yorkshire and from an old Scottish collection. A larger than normal strapend of elongate tongue shaped form with double rows of punched pellets decorating the periphery but unusually still has a sizeable portion of the original leather strap, now somewhat dessicated but still solid and held in place by a small rivet. Some light peripheral damage from its time buried in the earth but otherwise generally in good sound condition with an overall darkish green patina, rare this large and an affordable example, 126mm long x 22mm wide
