c.3500-3000 B.C. A large and superb Neolithic flaked flint axe found many years ago in Coltishall, Norfolk and from an old Norfolk collection. A sizable, heavy and robust example, expertly fashioned from a pale grey and whitish flint, very well worked throughout with well defined blade edges and a lovely old surface patination with iron oxide highlights only adding to its visual appeal. Totally intact and in excellent condition, a very appealing and tactile example of the type, 135mm long x 53mm wide x 30mm thick.
