c.3rd/4th Century A.D. A large and pleasant pair of Roman bronze cosmetic tweezers found in Oxfordshire and from a Northamptonshire collection. In very good overall shape and condition with a pleasant, patchy light and dark green patination. Once suspended on a small chain and loop and would have formed part of a Roman ladies travelling cosmetic set along with a nail cleaner and ear scoop. These cosmetic sets were often hung from a thin belt or Chatelain around the ladies waist for convenience. A pleasant and interesting Roman ladies accessory, 57mm long x 7mm wide.
