Product Description

c.2000-1800 B.C. A large and superb Late Neolithic / Early Bronze Age Lozenge shaped flint point found close to the famous Cheddar Gorge in Somerset in the early 20th Century, long before it was listed as a protected historic site. This fine arrowhead is expertly fashioned from a pleasant semi-translucent pale grey coloured flint, beautifully worked and pressure flaked over both faces, very symmetrical with good sharp edges and a well defined tip. Tiny loss to butt end tip of point where it was hafted into the arrow shaft (not detracting) otherwise totally intact and perfect with a most attractive shiny old collection patina and feint iron oxide highlights adding to its visual appeal, a lovely example of the type from a very notable and historic location, 42mm long x 20mm wide x 4mm thick
