Hoxnian interglacial c.424k-374k BC (MIS 11) A large and attractive Lower Paleolithic flint hand axe / pick from the famous site of Barnfield Pit, Swanscombe, Kent. Collected in the early-mid 20th Century and from an old Norfolk collection. Large offset grip with pebble cortex on upper surface and a well worked functional trihedral point, nice old Paleolithic colouration and patination, some light surface dirt but will clean easily, a good example from this famous Early Paleolithic site, 125mm long x 66mm wide x 40mm deep
