Early-Mid Neolithic c.5000-3000 B.C. A large and excellent Neolithic flint knife / scraper tool, part of a small group of lithics found on the same habitation site in Holbury, Hampshire, May 1916 and from an old collection. This tool is a good sized example, fashioned from an attractive light/dark grey & cream coloured flint, bi-facially worked with sharp blade edges and a lovely overall shiny old collection patination with iron oxide highlights to the percussion ridges. Old ink inscription on one side citing "Holbury, May 1916", intact and in very nice condition, 86mm long x 45mm wide x 10mm thick, a very nice Early Neolithic tool from an old collection.
