A large and excellent Mesolithic flint blade / side scraper formed on a large white and grey flint flake excavated close to the famous Culverwell habitation site, Portland Bill, Isle of Portland, Dorset and from a Hampshire Geologists collection. Unifacially worked with flat underside; well worked example with a pronounced medial ridge along its length and much secondary retouching along the main cutting / scraping edge almost making it finely denticulated, a very good example of its type from a famous Mesolithic site, 75mm long x 48mm at widest x 19mm at thickest point,
