Hoxnian interglacial c.424k-374k BC (MIS 11) A large, heavy (0.6kg) and impressive Lower Paleolithic flint hand axe / pick found many years back in Fordwich, Kent and from an old Norfolk collection. Fashioned from a most attractive Honey / Toffee coloured flint with some original pebble cortex still running down one side and featuring a very distinctive funtional pointed tip with further retouching along its edges to sharpen and slightly denticulate it. Totally intact and in excellent condition with the most attractive old Paleolithic colouration, lovely surface ageing and a smooth shiny patination, a very appealing and tactile piece,  165mm long x 85mm wide x 52mm thick
