c.3rd-2nd Century B.C. A large and pleasant Ancient Greek terracotta oil lamp, and old collection piece from a West Country collection. This nice lamp features a large circular flat base, a round main body with recessed filler hole at top and a wide and long spout flared at end, small vestigial handle on top right of main body. Once originally black glazed, some of which remains but now largely abraded away from its time buried in the earth and now mainly a buff terracotta all over. Tiny old knock to corner of spout (not-detracting) otherwise totally intact and in very good overall condition, robust with decent surfaces; a good sized and appealing Greek oil lamp, 98mm long x 64mm wide x 33mm deep.
