c.3000 - 2500 B.C. A large and pleasant Neolithic polished stone axe found in North Wales some years back (possibly hailing from Graig Lwyd Neolithic Axe factory near Rhyl?) and from an old Canadian private collection. Expertly fashioned from a very hard dark olive green stone with fine dark specks within, very uniform and symmetrical throughout with well defined blade edges and  painstakingly polished all over its surface to both strengthen the axe for use. This nice axe would have once been hafted into a wooden handle for use and was most likely used for heavier tasks such as chopping down trees and splitting logs etc. Totally intact and in very nice overall condition, an appealing and good sized Neolithic polished axe, 158mm long x 50mm wide x 34mm thick.
