c.200,000 B.C. A large and pleasant Paleolithic "Acheulian" flint hand axe found many years ago in Trilport, Northern Central France and from an old established Canadian private lithic collection. Fashioned from a white and grey coloured flint and of typical "Acheulian" form, elongate tear drop shaped with a wide grip-end tapering to the functional tip and bi-facially worked throughout. Good surface ageing, old chip to very tip and a few minor peripheral knocks otherwise intact and in good overall condition, a good sized and very affordable "Acheulian" flint hand axe, 161mm long x 83mm wide x 30mm thick.
