c.200,000 B.C. A large and pleasant Paleolithic "Acheulian" pointed flint hand axe found in the early 20th Century in Trilport, Northern Central France and from an old established Canadian private lithic collection. Fashioned from a white and grey coloured flint and of typical "Acheulian" pointed form, and elongate tapering body with a wide grip-end tapering to the functional tip and bi-facially worked throughout. Good surface ageing, old chip to very tip and a few minor peripheral knocks otherwise intact and in good overall condition, a good sized and very affordable "Acheulian" pointed hand axe, 136mm long x 76mm wide x 33mm thick.
