c.2500 B.C. A large and superb Late Neolithic "Hollow Base" flint arrowhead found at West Linton in the Scottish border regions. Expertly fashioned from a pale grey/beige coloured flint, finely and bi-facially worked to form an excellent and still sharp point with nice retouching and pressure flaking over the entirey of both sides, carefully shaped at base to form vestigial barbs. Totally intact and in excellent condition with good surface ageing and patination. Ex Cornish private collection. A good sized, superb example with excellent working, 36mm long x 25mm at widest.
