SOLD

c.2nd Century A.D. A superb Roman blue/green glass bulbous flask, Ex Charterhouse Public School Collection. A largely spherical body with a thin neck topped by an out-turned rim. Most likely once used for holding perfurmed oils (unguents). Feint and barely noticeable old repair to rim on one side, otherwise intact and in excellent condition with a lovely irridescence and patination to the surface of the glass (better and more colourful in the flesh than the images would suggest). Supplied on a brass coloured metal tripod display, a very nice and good sized Roman glass vessel from a famous and well respected collection. 98mm tall (130mm on stand) x 80mm diameter.
