c.2nd Century A.D. A large and superb Roman bronze "Tutulus" brooch / fibula found many years ago in Oxfordshire and from an old Midlands collection. An impressive bronze brooch in the shape of a circular shield with six peripheral lugs around its perimeter and a raised central boss. Pin missing as is usual for these brooches otherwise totally intact and in excellent condition with good smooth surfaces and a pleasant dark green patination, a lovely example of the type, 34mm diameter
