SOLD

c.3000 B.C. A large and superbly worked Neolithic flint scraper / hand axe tool found in Suffolk many years back and from a Norfolk collection. A sizable and robust example fashioned from a very distinctive East Anglia dark grey / black flint; either a large scraper or possibly even a small hand axe /chopper tool, well worked but flattish underside with a domed upper half, expertly knapped on upper side to form well defined blade edges, a patch of pebble cortex left in situ on the top of the tool to facilitate a better grip in the hand. Totally intact and with lovely surfaces and a shiny old collection patina, a very nice example of the type
