SOLD
c.1450 A.D. A large and superb Medieval socketed iron Cross Bow bolt tip from Germany. Found many years ago near Nuremburg, East Germany on what was believed to have once been the site of a Medieval battle. This sizeable Cross bow bolt has a deep socket at one end for insertion of a thick wooden shaft, elongate slightly leaf shaped point with medial ridge on either side. Totally intact and in excellent condition for ancient iron. Signs of impact to very tip indicating that this bolt was indeed used in battle and probably contacted metal armour at some stage. A larger and much better than normal example of the type, 102mm long x 14mm wide x 12mm thick
