c.3000 - 2500 B.C. A large and very nicely worked Neolithic tanged flint "Laurel Leaf" arrowhead found some years back in a field near Runcorn, Cheshire. Fashioned from a pleasant pale grey and cream coloured flint; Bi-facially worked and re-touched to form nicely defined blade edges, a good tip and a small squarish tang at base for fixing into a wooden arrow shaft. A good robust flint point, intact with an attractive and shiny overall old surface patination / ageing with a few iron oxide highlights for good measure, a very nice and sizeable Neolithic point, 54mm long x 23mm wide x 10mm thick.
