SOLD
c.10000 - 5000 B.C. A large and well worked Mesolithic flint scraper / knife tool and a much larger than normal example that sits well in the hand. Originally found near Beccles, Suffolk at a known Mesolithic habitation site and from a Suffolk collection. Well defined for a Mesolithic tool with clear pressure flaking all around tool forming very distinct functional blade edge. Pebble cortex remaining over much of the upper surface of the tool, nicely aged with good patina and light iron oxide highlights adding to its appeal, a nice example of the type, 88mm long x 60mm wide x 24mm thick
