c.1600 A.D. A large and elaborate Elizabethan period bronze Escutcheon plate from a casket or item of furniture. Attractively sculptured with screw hole at top, slot for some form of latch mechanism and a large domed rivet application towards its base. In nice condition, of good metal with nice surfaces and a pleasant overall dark green patination, an interesting item, 65mm long x 43mm wide.
