c.400,000 - 300,000 B.C. A large, excellent and attractive Early Palaeolithic Flint Scraper tool from found in Ancient Gravel deposits being worked in the Sussex area and from an old London collection. Formed from a large wedge shaped flint flake with finer working to around a third of its perimeter to form an almost denticulated blade edge for cutting or scraping purposes. Beautiful old Palaeolithic surface colouration and patination featuring hues of red, brown, tan and yellow, intact and in very nice condition, a pleasant early stone age tool, 68mm x 47mm x 15mm at thickest.
