Late Bronze age c. 900-700 B.C. A large,excellent and rare Late Bronze Age bronze bead unearthed on a Bronze Age habitation site in Buckinghamshire and from an old Buckinghamshire collection. Of a solid, thick "doughnut shaped" form, with flattened top and bottom with a wide centrally drilled suspension hole through the centre. Possibly once silvered or gilded but now patinated dark green in tone and possibly one of many strung together as part of an elaborate necklace. These bronze beads are often associated with high status burials and are rare items, often sought after by Bronze age collectors. Totally intact and in very nice overall condition, of good metal with nice surfaces and a pleasant shiny dark green patina, a very nice example of the type, 17mm diameter x 10mm thick
