c.2200-1800 B.C. A large, finely worked and superb quality Late Neolithic flint knife / dagger found in Maldon, Essex many years back and from a Cornish collection. Beautifully fashioned from a most attractive semi-translucent Honey coloured flint, well worked over its entirety but delicately pressure flaked along its blade edges on either side, blades still sharp to the touch. Blade probably once hafted into a wood or bone handle and side notch at base of blade possible used for binding and securing blade into handle. (PAS Recorded - ID=CORN-C8D3A1). A super quality piece in lovely condition with a very attractive surface ageing and patination, 113mm long x 43mm wide x 6mm thick.
