Late Neolithic c.2300-2000 B.C. A large, heavy and magnificent "Museum Quality" Neolithic Polished flint axe found many years ago near Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk and from a Cornish collection. A choice quality Neolithic axe fashioned from a most attractive and appealing Toffee / Honey coloured flint, very symmetrical, superbly worked and painstakingly polished all over; excellent surfaces with a lovely ageing and shiny patination; an excellent blade edge showing no signs of usage or impact so suggests that this high quality axe was most likely a status item that once belonged to a tribal chieftain or elder. A stunning and most attarctive Neolithic polished axe that would grace any collection, Plastic display stand included, 180mm long x 65mm wide across blade x 33mm thick.
