c.100,000 - 60,000 B.C. A large, superb and attractive Mid-Late Paleolithic "Mousterian - Neanderthal" flint hand axe found many years ago in Vic-sur-Aisne, Northern France. An impressive, heavy and very nicely worked hand axe fashioned from a most attractive toffee / honey coloured flint, nicely shaped and bi-facially worked with expert re-touching to further define the tip and edges. Totally intact and in lovely condition with a most attractive surface colouration, patination and ageing. A very nice and appealing Neanderthal hand axe, 162mm long x 93mm wide x 48mm thick.
