Halstatt Culture c.8th-7th Century B.C. A large, superb and very wearable Early Ancient Celtic "Halstatt Culture" bronze decorated bangle, found as part of a Central European hoard many years ago and from an old established Surrey collection.[It is thought that these bracelets such as this also served as currency prior to the earliest Celtic ring money and coinages]. The bangle features an very attractive "Rocker" stamped banded decoration all around and a superb, shiny overall dark green patina, excellent surfaces and metal throughout. Possibly museum or professionally cleaned at some time in the past by a previous owner but still a superb and very wearable example of early Celtic jewellery, a stunning piece, band 5-6mm diameter, 76mm maximum diameter.
