MIS13 - MIS11 c.531,000 to 420,000 B.C. A large, well worked Lower Palaeolithic "Denticulated" flint scraper found on the banks of the River Stour at Harkstead, Suffolk and from an old Suffolk collection. Well worked for such an early tool and fashioned from a thick flint flake with original cortex remaining on the front and back faces, clearly worked on the longest edge with multiple removals making an almost denticulated scraping, cutting and sawing blade. A great old Palaeolithic coloration and shiny patination to worked surfaces, a large, pleasant and tactile example of a very early flake tool, 88mm wide x 64mm wide x 25mm thick
