c.1200-1300 A.D. A lovely, intact and usable Early Medieval "Beehive" bronze thimble found in Cambridgeshire. These are among the the earliest form of thimbles, of robust manufacture and closely resembling a traditional beehive, hence the name. This example is intact in very good condition with nice surfaces and an attractive overall green surface patination, a very nice example of the type which could still even be used, supplied in display box, 20mm high x 20mm maximum diameter.
