Early 2nd Century A.D. A lovely little Roman terracotta oil lamp with makers mark on the base, excavated in the early 1920's within the City of London. Original old label included. A pleasant lamp with flat upper side decorated around filler hole with incised concentric circle design. Short flared volute style spout, tapering sides and small flat base complete with embossed makers name (PHOETAS?). Ex old suffolk collection. Lamp intact and in excellent overall condition, supplied with display stand, 75mm long x 56mm wide x 23mm deep.
