c.1150- 1250 A.D. A nice group of 3 assorted Late Norman to Early Medieval Buckles found in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire. One plain with angular sides and raised shoulders, one oval example with inscribed lines and ribbing at terminals and another of oval form with intricate inscribed design all over. Average sizes 23-26 mm wide x 15-21mm deep. All minus their iron pins but otherwise in very nice condition with shiny dark surface patination. A good value study or retail group.
