Our Price: £0.00

SOLD

c.2nd Century A.D. A nice large Roman (Romano-British) bronze disc brooch originally found in East Anglia and from a London collection. A good sized and robust disc brooch liberally decorated with concentric rings of embossed lines and pellets, central recess would have most likely been inlaid with coloured glass or a gemstone. The brooch would have originally been silver plated and traces of the original silvering still remain in parts. A couple of tiny knocks and pin missing otherwise intact and in good overall condition with a pleasant green patination, a pleasant example, 32mm diameter.
