Product Description
Hoxnian Interglacial Period c.424,000 to 374,000 B.C. A large Lower Palaeolithic Unifacial flint hand axe found some years back at Overstrand, Near Cromer, North Norfolk and from an old Norfolk collection. Nicely worked from a large thick flake of light and dark grey flint taken from the outer edge of a large flint pebble and still has pebble cortex evident on the unworked side of the hand axe to aide grip in use. Clearly worked on other side to form a sharp blade edge on one side plus a good functional point. Intact and in nice overall condition. A good and sizable Palaeolithic hand axe, approx. 125mm long x 63mm wide x 55mm at thickest
