c.1500-1600 A.D. A nice pair of Tudor period bronze "Snake" shaped belt hooks found many years back in Yorkshire and from a Scottish collection. Both in the distinct form of Snakes in an "S" shaped poise, clearly detailed heads and the larger hook also features scale decoration along the body. Probably once gilded or silvered but now just base metal. Some light wear and surface dirt from their time buried in the earth but otherwise generally in good sound condition and an affordable pair of these interesting belt hooks, they measure 43mm long by 20mm and the smaller one 37mm x 19mm
