Hellenistic period c.3rd-1st Century B.C. A nice robust Ancient Greek "Hellenistic" red ware terracotta bowl from an old West Country collection. This nice little vessel has a small round pedestal base with sharply angled straight sides rising to a simple rim. Possibly used for holding salt or maybe even a vessel intended for votive purposes into which small offerings would placed and then deposited in a shrine or sacred place. A couple of tiny old knocks to the rim (not-detracting) otherwise totally intact, robust and in very good condition for its great age, 73mm diameter x 38mm deep
