SOLD

c.3rd/4th Century A.D. A nice Roman "Snake head" votive bronze ring found in Cambridgeshire. A simple coiled votive bronze finger ring with a plain flat band with punched dot decoration along either edge which widens out to a stylised "Snake like" head. These votive rings are generally considered as votive deposits and probably intended for placement at a sacred site as an offering to the Gods. Intact and in nice condition with a pleasant overall deep green patina, a good example of the type, Band 14mm diameter, 8mm wide, head terminal11mm wide.
