c.4000-2500 B.C. A nicely worked Neolithic leaf shaped flint spear head found in the Mid 20th Century in Botley, Hampshire and from an old Hampshire collection. Expertly fashioned from a pleasant light grey / brown flint, well worked and pressure flakes on either side to create sharp edge blades and functional tip. Due to the smaller size of this spear head it is likely from a small thrusting spear rather than a larger throwing example. Tiny knock to very tip and a small old chip to one side at very base (neither detracting) otherwise intact and in lovely condition with an appealing overall shiny old collection patina, a nice example of the type, 65mm long x 30mm wide x 8mm thick
