c.3000 B.C. A nicely worked Neolithic small flint axe or adze found near Swaffham, Norfolk and from an old Norfolk collection. The axe/adze is  fashioned from a pleasant light/dark grey flint with small areas of pebble cortex remaining on the upper surface which contains an ink description collection number. A nicely defined flint tool and well worked to form a sharp and functional blade. Excellent surfaces with attractive surface ageing and patination, a nice example of the type and tactile, 87mm long x 36mm wide x 15mm at thickest.
