c.3rd/4th Century A.D. A pair of large, good quality terracotta rim segments from large Roman pots found near Ipswich, Suffolk on a known Roman habitation site and from and old Essex collection. Both shards featuring well defined rims and a thumbed decorative applied banding around the pot shoulder. Nice condition with good surfaces, one shard measures approximately 200mm x 90mm, the other 135mm x 35mm.
