c.2nd/3rd Century A.D. A pair of large Roman terracotta roof tile fragments found many years back on a know Roman villa Site near Gloucester. This group includes a large flat tile segment (Tegula) plus a smaller segment of one of the Curved capping tiles (Imbrex). The tegular still shows a impressed "T" which was part of the original makers mark and the Imbrex features an impressed Star shaped makers mark. The tegula is quite heavy and measures approx. 133mm wide x 153mm long x 48mm thick, the imbrex is 107mm wide x 80mm long x 18mm thick. Both are in good condition as excavated with sound surfaces, a decent pair of Roman roof tiles from a good site, the pair only
