SOLD
A small piece of water worn coal recovered from the wreck of the Titanic (sunk 15th April 1912) in small clear plastic display box. This small piece of coal is just a tiny part of a large consignment of coal recovered from the wreck of the Titanic during the 1994 expedition by RMS Titanic Inc. the company given sole salvage rights for search and recovery expeditions to the wreck. Whilst some 5,500 items have now been recovered from the wreck, the recovered coal is the only item that was permitted for sale by the U.S. Government with all proceeds from the sales of the coal intended for funding further dives and recovery expeditions. This small fragment of water worn coal is nicely presented in a small clear perspex display and the certificate from RMS Titanic is embossed on the side. A chance to own a little bit of history, a real conversation piece, coal approx. 11mm x 9mm, display box 50mm square x 96mm high
